Manly
While living on one beach, it only makes sense that I would travel an hour north and through the city to visit another. To get to Manly, I took a bus and then a train and then a ferry. The ferry drove under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and next to the Opera House so yes, I totally ran to get a seat with good views. Boom.
I met Ann-Marie and we went to 4 different beaches around town (with a quick stop at an ocean pool) trying to find one that wasn't too busy or with crappy sand. We finally found one, after running through the scariest canopy of MASSIVE evil spiders with a towel over my head and scenes playing in my mind of Harry Potter's Aragog. We sat for about 10 minutes until the lightning began. When a lightning storm is zooming in from the ocean, there's only one thing to do: run. So we booked it outta there yet still were caught in the downpour.
In the end, Ann-Marie's cousin saved us from the rain and we made tacos and had lovely family time (thanks for including me!).
