St Kilda & Brighton Beach
BEACH DAY!
My first beach experience in Australia is in the books! Pip, Ann-Marie, and I jumped on a tram down to St Kilda and spent the day lounging in the sun. I smothered myself in 50 SPF, but the Australian sun laughed at my pale, freckley self and effed me again. Red is just going to be the official color of this trip.

Burning aside, St Kilda was a cute little town with a creepy theme park. The beach was small, but nice and relaxing.
After our roasting, we drove down to Brighton Beach and grabbed some lunch. I figured there's no time like beach time, so ordered a soft shell crab burger. Literally a crab. Fried. On a burger. Pinchers and all!
Then on to the main reason for Brighton: the painted huts! They were even cuter in person and lined the whole beach. We were only 30 min out of the city, so we could still see the skyline in the distance. I love having the beach so close! After playing in the chilly water, hoards of adorable swim-cap-wearing kids swarmed the beach for surf life saving lessons.
